Description:
We are seeking a software engineer to join NewTek's SpeedEDIT engineering team to help create the next generation of the World's Fastest Video Editor. The candidate will be a member of a dynamic team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining code for all aspects of the program including Audio/Video processing and analysis, A/V compression, time bases, hardware interfacing, user-interface and work flow, etc. As a member of our team you will be contributing to the creation of tools that allow professional video editors to focus on their art of making award-winning video.
Key Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years professional experience in software development
- Extensive background in object-oriented design and C++
- Strong multi-threaded programming experience
- Experience working with an object-oriented framework codebase and UI toolkit (e.g. MFC)
- Good debugging skills
Additional Desired Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Win32 and DirectX APIs
- Backround in Image/Video processing and formats
- Backround in Video Codecs
- Previous commercial software application development life-cycle experience
- Knowledge of design patterns such as Document-View or Model-View-Controller
- Experience with code optimization and SIMD (MMX, SSE, SSE2, etc.)
